Chandigarh: Leader of opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the BJP govt on the completion of two years of its third term, labelling its 12-year tenure a “complete failure defined by false promises, rising crime, record unemployment, and mounting public debt”.Presenting statistics and official reports, Hooda said Haryana had slipped from being a top-performing state to one lagging in key development and governance indicators. He pointed out that state debt had surged from Rs 70,000 crore in 2014 to Rs 5.5 lakh crore, while more than 2 lakh govt posts remain vacant amid recurring recruitment paper leaks. He added that according to NITI Aayog’s SDG report, Haryana ranks 14th nationally, while its position on the Export Preparedness Index fell from 5th to 10th.Targeting the administration on law and order, Hooda cited central reports to mark Haryana as the most unsafe state, noting that the India Justice Report saw the state police ranking drop from 8th to 14th. He further highlighted the plight of farmers, stating that an average farm household now carries a debt of Rs 1.82 lakh, with growers forced to sell crops below MSP.
