CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: The Aurangabad bench of Bombay high court has restrained the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Zilla Parishad from finalising a promotion list of primary teachers after 52 educators challenged their exclusion for not possessing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification despite decades of service.
A division bench of justices Vibha Kankanwadi and Hiten S Venegavkar, in an order dated March 24, allowed the authorities to continue with the verification process but directed them not to finalise the promotion list till the next hearing scheduled for April 24.
The court also asked the respondents, including the additional secretary of the school education department, director of education, ZP chief executive officer and education officer (primary), to file their affidavits in reply within two weeks.
