Gurgaon: A hit-and-run claimed the life of a man who was riding a bicycle when a speeding car – XUV 300 – hit him from behind in Sector 29 on Monday evening.Police said that 35-year-old Babul Hussain, a part-time employee at a private company, was on his cycle near Leisure Valley Park when the accident took place around 4 pm. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, during which he died.Police reached the spot after being informed about the accident and took the vehicle into custody. “Efforts are underway to identify and trace the driver and we are also looking at CCTV footage from the area,” the officer said.A case has been registered against the unknown driver under BNS sections related to rash driving and death by negligence at Sector 29 police station.In another accident, 21-year-old Shubham, a native of Rohtak, travelling on his motorcycle, was hit by a speeding truck on the SPR road on Tuesday. The truck driver had fled from the spot.A passer-by admitted him to Park Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.Based on his cousin’s complaint, a case has been registered at Badshahpur police station under BNS sections related to rash driving and death by negligence.“CCTV footage from the nearby areas has been analysed and the truck has been identified – HR55AT5256. We will send a notice to the owner of the truck and further investigation is underway,” the officer added.
