New Delhi: A video has surfaced on social media showing Satyam Pandit, the national president of an outfit called Hindu Veer Sena, confronting two students returning from the Jantar Mantar protest.The video shows Pandit asking the two youths their names, religion and the reason for attending the protest. The video, now widely circulated online, shows the saffron scarf wearing man, abusing, threatening, and then slapping one of the youths. He also makes this youth apologise facing a camera.At one point, one of the youths is seen trying to explain that he is a BSc student from Bareilly who had come to Delhi to visit his sister and decided to stop by the protest “to see what was happening”.

He is also seen attempting to defend himself before being asked to lower his hand while speaking. Pandit is seen commanding the youth repeatedly to lower his hand from his face. Then he sticks his hand out of his car window and slaps the youngster.Pandit himself shared the video on his social media account, after which several politicians and people demanded police action against him.He is seen asking the students about their religion and then questioning why, if they were Hindus, had they attended the protest. He claimed anti-national slogans were being raised there and repeatedly asked them why they were supporting the gathering. The two youths seemed nervous during the interaction.Towards the end of the video, the man is heard warning the students against returning to such protests. “Will you come here again?” he asks, prompting both of them to reply in the negative, before apologising on camera.Police said no complaint had come from either youth. “Therefore, no case has been registered,” a senior police officer said.
