Kanpur: Himani Shah of Sheiling House School and Chinmay Kanodia of Methodist School won the girls’ and boys’ Under-17 titles, respectively, in the 61st Billabong Chess Championship held at Billabong International High School on Sunday.The championship was organised in Under-8, Under-11, Under-15 and Under-17 boys’ and girls’ categories. Around 119 participants took part in the tournament.The Under-15 and Under-17 events were played over six rounds, while the remaining categories were contested over five rounds.Following the competition, coordinators Sohneet Sahu and Kamal Kumar Khemani awarded trophies and certificates to the winners.Under-8 Boys: Joshua Abin Mathew (3 pts), Marinak Bagchi (3 pts), Shivansh Sahu (2 pts) Under-8 Girls: Alice Goswami (3 pts), Swastika Mishra (2 pts), Avika Sharma (2 pts) Under-11 Boys: Atharva Singh (4.5 pts), Vedansh Mishra (4 pts), Ahan Verma (4 pts) Under-11 Girls: Mayara Gupta (3 pts), Sanvi Omar (3 pts), Shambhavi Mishra (3 pts) Under-15 Boys: Adhyansh Singh (5.5 pts), Adarsh Gautam (5 pts), Shaurya Shah Srivastava (5 pts) Under-15 Girls: Angelina Goswami (3.5 pts), Mishita Dixit (3 pts), Akshita Gautam (3 pts) Under-17 Boys: Chinmay Kanodia (3.5 pts), Anand Agnihotri (3.5 pts), Rishi Rajput (3 pts) Under-17 Girls: Himani Shah (3.5 pts), Trisha Vishwakarma (1 pt), Ayushi Rajput (1 pt).
