Earlier this month, the govt appointed 194 doctors, including 118 specialists, after they completed postgraduate courses and senior residency.

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh health and family welfare department has initiated the recruitment of 228 medical officers in the general wing, including 70 backlog and 158 fresh posts.

A proposal has been sent to the Himachal Public Service Commission to fill the posts and strengthen healthcare services across govt health institutions. The govt has also begun the process to fill one assistant professor post in super-speciality gastroenterology through promotion under the department of medical education and research.

Earlier this month, the govt appointed 194 doctors, including 118 specialists, after they completed postgraduate courses and senior residency. They have been deployed at civil hospitals, community health centres, regional and zonal hospitals and medical colleges across the state.
