Panaji: In the PIL concerning court infrastructure, govt told the high court that work orders for the installation of air conditioning in courts in Mapusa, Pernem, Bicholim and Valpoi were issued on March 10, and the installation will be completed within 45 days.The high court called for the progress of such work to be placed before it at the next hearing and, if still pending, to tell it by what date the work will be completed.As far as the South Goa district and sessions court annex building is concerned, the court observed that the date of completion of work was Dec 2025 and directed that a progress report be placed on record on the next date of hearing along with a bar chart specifying the work completed and the work still pending to be completed.It directed the assistant engineer, sub division-2 (building), South, Margao, to place on record the work to be completed, the timeline within which the work will be completed, and that the building be handed over to the district court in a functional state.Govt told the court that its is in the process of acquiring land adjacent to the court for parking. It added that it will tell the court at the next hearing the date by which it will issue a notification for acquiring the land.
