Enough about football now — it’s time to start talking about fashion. On the heels of New York’s schedule release for the Spring 2027 shows earlier this month, London followed suit this week.
On Monday, the British Fashion Council (BFC) announced the provisional schedule for the Spring 2027 shows at LFW, set to take place from Sept. 17 through Sept. 21.
Diamonds of the season? Seán McGirr and Christopher Kane’s London debuts for Alexander McQueen and Mulberry, respectively. The schedule also welcomes back familiar faces such as Barbour, Burberry, Emilia Wickstead, Erdem, Harris Reed, Richard Quinn, Roksanda and Simone Rocha.
Back for another lap in the NewGen Catwalk Space are Charlie Constantinou, E.W. Usie, Liza Keane, Octi, Oscar Ouyang, Pauline Dujancourt, The Ouze and Yaku, who are programmed throughout the week.
What’s New
Alexander McQueen returns home for the first time since its last LFW runway in 2022, with new creative director, Irish designer Seán McGirr, set to show Sunday, Sept. 20. Fellow British heritage brand Mulberry debuts Scottish designer Christopher Kane the same day, with an earlier time slot.
Designers Francesca Lake, Gui Rosa and Petra Fagerström will make their first LFW appearances under NewGen, alongside first-timers Georgdie Campbell, Joyce Bao, Lovebirds and Onalaja.
J.L-A.L, in collaboration with Puma, and Paul Smith Foundation American designer-in-residence 5000 will both present their collections as immersive presentations — part of the BFC’s emphasis this season on “high-impact physical experiences and interdisciplinary storytelling, complemented by a dynamic programme of installations, exhibitions and cultural events.”
Retail is getting a bigger spotlight on the schedule, too. Marks & Spencer will step onto the London runway for the first time, unveiling an exclusive “see now, buy now” collection spanning womenswear and menswear, marking 100 years since the brand entered the fashion industry.
