Jaipur: Two helmeted men allegedly robbed Rs 42 lakh from three Bank of India employees outside an ATM booth near Akshyapatra Circle in Jaipur Monday morning.Police have obtained CCTV footage and said a case has been registered. The robbery took place around 10.41 am and was carried out in about a minute, according to Ramnagariya police.According to police, three employees, two women and a man, had gone to the ATM booth to collect cash from a cash deposit machine after a three-day holiday. They withdrew Rs 42 lakh and packed it in a black bag before heading back towards the bank building. The cash had to be cleared from the machine to allow further deposits, police said.Police said that as the employees stepped out of the booth, two men waiting nearby allegedly approached them on a motorcycle. “The suspects allegedly brandished a pistol, threatened the employees, and snatched the bag containing the cash after a brief struggle. They then fled the spot on their motorcycle,” the officer added.CCTV footage shows the suspects approaching the employees and fleeing with the bag. “Some people at the scene can also be seen attempting to chase the robbers, but the suspects managed to escape,” the officer added.When contacted, Deputy Commissioner of police (East) Ranjita Sharma said, “We are probing various angles in the case and have got strong leads.” Police launched a search operation and alerted teams in the area, but the suspects had fled before they could be intercepted.Investigators suspect the robbery may have been planned after surveillance and recce. “The suspects appeared to be aware that the bank employees would be carrying a large amount of cash from the deposit machine,” he added.
