Ranchi: The Ranchi Met office has issued a heat wave alert at isolated parts of the state from Saturday.The weather office said heat wave is at isolated places in north-western part of the state such as Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra and south-eastern part such as East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharswan. While a yellow alert was issued for these parts, orange alert for heat wave was issued for May 25 and 26 in Garhwa, Palamu and Chatra.In addition, yellow alert for thunderstorm and lightning, with gusty winds up to 60 kilometres an hour, was predicted for Dhanbad and Bokaro on May 24. A thunderstorm alert was issued at isolated places over central and southern parts of the state on May 25. “There will not be a large change in maximum temperature in the next five days,” the Met office said.Notably, isolated parts of the state received very-light to light rainfall with thunderstorm over 24 hours till Friday morning The highest rainfall 7.6 mm was observed at Jamtara.At 45.2 degrees C, Daltonganj recorded the highest daytime temperature in the state on Friday. Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 38.9 degrees C and a minimum of 26.5 degrees C.
