Gorakhpur: To mark the inception of National Nurses Week, students of the BSc Nursing (second semester) programme from the Nursing and Paramedical Faculty of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University conducted a heatwave awareness drive in Balapar village on Wednesday.The initiative aimed to educate rural residents about the risks associated with extreme heat and preventive measures. Through role-play presentations, students explained key symptoms of heatwave-related illnesses, first-aid responses, the importance of adequate hydration, and ways to protect oneself from prolonged heat exposure.Villagers were advised to increase water intake, wear light and breathable clothing, and avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours unless necessary.The programme witnessed active participation from villagers, who appreciated the informative session and its relevance during the ongoing summer season.
