Varanasi: The headmaster of PM Shri Prathamik Vidyalaya (Pratham) in Azamgarh’s Ajmatgarh area has been suspended for making students do cleaning and personal chores. He has been attached to the Block Education Officer’s office in Ajmatgarh.District Basic Education Officer Rajeev Pathak said that headmaster, Awadhesh Yadav, has been suspended with immediate effect.According to reports, the matter came to light after a viral video showed students regularly doing non-academic tasks like cleaning, personal work, and carrying goods. A complaint was also received about serious financial irregularities related to mid-day meals being cooked outside on a stove.Taking the case seriously, the BSA office sought an explanation from the headmaster on Apr 13, but found his response unsatisfactory and took action. The order stated that his act violated provisions of the Right to Education Act, 2009, and was contrary to the dignity of the teaching post.During the suspension, the headmaster will receive a subsistence allowance as per rules and has been attached to the Block Education Officer’s office in Ajmatgarh. The Block Education Officer, Haraiya, has been asked to investigate the matter, prepare a chargesheet, and submit a detailed inquiry report.Taking the case seriously, the BSA office had sought an explanation from the headmaster on April 13, but his response was not found satisfactory, following which this action was taken. According to the order, this act is a violation of the provisions of the Right to Education Act 2009 and is contrary to the dignity of the teaching post. During the suspension period, the concerned headmaster will be given a subsistence allowance as per rules and has been attached to the Block Education Officer office, Ajmatgarh. Additionally, the Block Education Officer, Haraiya, has been assigned to investigate the matter and has been directed to prepare a charge sheet and submit a detailed inquiry report.
