Srinagar, Oct 17: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has issued non-bailable warrants of arrest against respondent No. 4 in a contempt petition after he failed to appear before the court despite service of bailable warrants.
Justice Sanjay Dhar passed the directions while hearing Contempt Petition (CPSW) No. 163/2019, filed by Zorawar Singh and others against Hilal Ahmed Parrey and others.
The court observed that despite the service of bailable warrants upon respondent No. 4, nobody had appeared on his behalf. It also noted that the respondent had not filed his statement of facts.
Taking note of the non-appearance, the court directed that non-bailable warrants of arrest be issued against the respondent to secure his presence on the next date of hearing.
The court further directed that the warrants be sent through the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) for execution.
The matter has been listed for further hearing on November 20, 2026.
Advocate Achal Sharma appeared for the petitioners, while Advocate Priyanka Bhat, vice counsel, and Senior Additional Advocate General Monika Kohli represented the respondents.
