The court also allowed Bageerath to apply for regular bail before the competent trial court. The court’s order came in view of his arrest and judicial remand on May 16, following which his counsel N Naveen Kumar approached the high court seeking to withdraw the bail petition. Since he was already in judicial remand, the bail petition became infructuous, Naveen Kumar said.Taking note of the submissions and the judicial remand details, the judge allowed the petition to be withdrawn.Justice Madhavi Devi heard Bageerath at length on May 14 and 15 and, while refusing any interim protection, reserved the matter for orders to May 21. However, Bageerath was arrested and sent to judicial remand.
