Hazaribag: A 45-year-old man drowned in a pond in Kud-Rewali village under Katkamdag police station limits while immersing a Karma branch after the conclusion of Karma festival on Wednesday.Locals said Satyendra Bhuiyan was first spotted drowning by a group of children near the pond and alerted the villagers. Residents then informed the police and district administration. Bhuiyan’s body was fished out of the pond and sent to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital for postmortem examination.Local mukhiya Dhiraj Kumar said, “Bhuiyan is survived by his wife and three children.” Satyendra Kumar Paswan, Katkamdag circle officer, said Bhuiyan’s family will be provided govt assistance as per existing provisions.
