GURGAON: Seasonal warming continued to make its presence felt across Haryana on Sunday.Amid a gradual but steady rise in both night and day temperatures, daytime readings stayed slightly below the seasonal average, data from India Meteorological Department (IMD) showed.Gurgaon recorded a minimum temperature of 12.8 degrees Celsius, which was 0.8 degrees higher than the previous day, signalling a slow softening of winter nights as the region transitions towards summer. On Saturday, the maximum temperature was 28.1 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 13.1 degrees Celsius.Across Haryana, minimum temperatures rose by an average of 2.1 degrees Celsius compared to Saturday, though they remained close to normal for this time of the year. No rainfall was reported from any station in the state.Day temperatures also edged up. According to IMD, maximum temperatures across Haryana increased by an average of 1.9 degrees Celsius but continued to remain 1.9 degrees below normal. In Gurgaon, the maximum temperature touched 28.2 degrees Celsius at the automatic weather station (AWS), up 1.8 degrees from the previous day.Among other districts, Bhiwani was the hottest in the state at 30.8 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Nuh at 30.7 degrees Celsius and Hisar at 30.1 degrees Celsius. Rohtak recorded a maximum of 28.5 degrees Celsius, while Ambala logged 27.8 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh saw a maximum temperature of 28.1 degrees Celsius, which was 1.9 degrees below the normal for this time of the year.At night, Karnal remained the coolest place in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 12.3 degrees Celsius.IMD officials said the trend reflects a seasonal shift rather than an abrupt spike. “We are seeing a gradual rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures as winter conditions weaken. While nights are turning milder, daytime temperatures are still below normal due to the absence of strong heat conditions,” an IMD official said, adding that a steady warming trend is expected in the coming days if current conditions persist.Overall, the weather pattern points to a smooth transition from winter to early summer, with comfortable nights and moderately warm days continuing across much of Haryana for now.
