Margao: A 30-year-old Haryana native was found dead in a nullah at Mugali, Sao Jose de Areal, Salcete, on Friday, police said.The deceased was identified as Chanchal Kumar, a resident of Faridabad, Haryana. Maina-Curtorim police received information that a man was lying in the nullah and rushed to the spot.Preliminary investigation revealed that Kumar had gone out on his scooter while under the influence of alcohol before the incident, police said.A postmortem examination was carried out, and the police surgeon certified the cause of death as asphyxia due to aspiration of muddy water, with the victim also sustaining a head injury.The body was later handed over to the deceased’s family members for last rites. Maina-Curtorim police have registered a case of unnatural death.
