Chandigarh: The Guest Teachers Joint Struggle Front has urged the Haryana govt to initiate the regularisation process for 10,757 guest teachers who, it said, had been serving in govt schools for the last 21 years.
Citing the state’s three-year policy framed in 2014 and a court order dated May 25, 2026, the state president of the Front, Krishan Dharashul, demanded that govt issue necessary directions to the education department and take a time-bound decision on their regularisation.
He said the teachers had continued to discharge their duties despite prolonged uncertainty over their future. “Guest teachers have been an integral part of Haryana’s education system for the last 21 years. Govt must recognise their long years of service and initiate the regularisation process at the earliest,” Dharashul said, calling for action in accordance with the court order.
He said the teachers had been waiting for a decision for years and regularisation would provide clarity on their service status. The Front also urged govt to ensure that the process is transparent. TNN
