Chandigarh: Haryana is racing to fast-track major industrial and logistics projects as the state seeks to position itself as one of the country’s leading manufacturing hubs, chief minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Monday.Saini made the remarks while participating through videoconference in the third meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust.Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the meeting, with Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal, chief ministers and senior officials in attendance.The meeting reviewed the progress of key industrial and manufacturing projects, including Haryana’s Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) at Nangal Chaudhary and the Hisar Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC).Saini said the state is speeding up land acquisition for Phase-I of Nangal Chaudhary IMLH. He said he would visit the logistics hub on Aug 23 and flag off the railway line. The railway yard of CWC IMLH will be operated by the Central Warehousing Corporation.The Hisar IMC has also moved closer to execution, with bids received for the nearly Rs 707-crore EPC contract for Phase-I infrastructure, he said. The master plan notification process has begun and is targeted for completion by Aug 31.Construction work for canal diversion under Phase-I has already been awarded, while NHAI has awarded the proposed double-loop interchange at Dhandur Junction through the EPC mode.Saini said the govt was closely monitoring appointment of EPC agencies, master-plan notification and external connectivity works. Land acquisition is also being expedited for other proposed Integrated Manufacturing Clusters, with land being acquired for 10 IMTs across the state.Under the Centre’s BHAVYA scheme, Haryana has also submitted a proposal for developing an industrial park on 108 acres in Ambala.Saini said close coordination between the Centre and state would help strengthen Haryana’s industrial infrastructure and boost manufacturing, logistics and investment. Goyal also offered suggestions on expediting the projects.
