Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday said party workers who have worked hard for the Congress would be given due priority in the allocation of party and nominated posts in the govt.Addressing a meeting of party workers in Nizamabad district, Goud said the party was receiving demands to provide opportunities even to grassroots-level workers. He assured that a proper balance among all sections would be maintained while filling various posts.“Chief minister A Revanth Reddy and the AICC in charge Meenakshi Natarajan had decided that 70% of the posts would be given to long-standing party workers. A similar format is being followed at the AICC level. Those who had worked continuously for the party over the past five years or more would be given opportunities,” he said.Priority would be given to workers associated with organisations such as NSUI and Youth Congress, as well as those who had remained committed to the party. All the committees would be constituted, with around 20% of the positions being allocated to new entrants into the party, he added.“Congress came to power because of the hard work of party workers. The party will never forget their contribution,” Goud said and expressed confidence about the party’s electoral prospects.
