Bengaluru: The Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum has reopened after a major upgrade, introducing immersive installations and advanced aviation exhibits to enhance visitor experience.The revamped facility was unveiled by HAL chairman and managing director DK Sunil, and will be open to the public from Monday.The key attractions following the revamp include a life-size HTFE-25 engine replica, a 3D runway with Tejas and Prachand, the Wings of Bharat multi-sensory show, and a dedicated interactive zone for children. Wings of Bharat, a multi-sensory show set in a hangar-like space, showcases HAL’s contributions to the nation. A Dhruv helicopter cockpit simulator offers hands-on flying experience.Visitors can also engage with Tejasvi, a holographic avatar that presents the organisation’s legacy and achievements. The museum also features 3D models of HAL’s products across aircraft, helicopters, engines, and space technologies, along with digital archives and milestone displays.A dedicated children’s zone includes interactive games, design activities, quizzes, an immersive space shuttle module, and an augmented reality photo booth. Outdoors, the aircraft park displays platforms such as HF-24 Marut, Ajeet, Lakshya pilotless target aircraft, LCA Tejas, Dhruv advanced light helicopter, and MiG-21.The museum, located on Old Airport Road, will be open daily from 9am to 4.30pm. Set up in 2001, it is recognised as India’s first aerospace museum and remains a key city landmark.
