Gurgaon: Gurugram University is set to launch Executive MBA programme from the 2026-27 academic session. With this, the university will become the third govt university in Haryana to offer an Executive MBA course after Maharshi Dayanand University and Kurukshetra University.The two-year programme has been specially designed for professionals to continue their jobs while pursuing a management degree and aims to equip industry professionals with modern management education.Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Sanjay Kaushik said, “The programme will provide a valuable opportunity for professionals seeking higher education alongside their careers. The curriculum includes industry-oriented teaching, modern technology and real-life case studies to enhance leadership and management skills”.The admission process has already begun for the inaugural batch of 30 people. The course fee will be Rs 2.95 lakh, and a subsidised amount of Rs 2.70 lakh has also been set for applicants sponsored by their respective companies.The schedule of the programme has been designed to meet academic credit requirements without affecting employment commitments. Classes will be conducted on Fridays from 6 p.m. to 9.30 p.m., while weekend sessions will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to the university administration, applicants from any academic background can apply, provided they hold a recognised undergraduate degree and possess at least two years of work experience in industry, business, services or professional institutions. There is no upper age limit for admission.The course has been structured in line with the National Education Policy to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. It will offer specialisation in Human Resource Management, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics and FinTech. Emerging subjects such as Digital Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship and Innovation have also been included to meet future employment demands.Industry experts and corporate professionals will also be invited for teaching sessions, while up to 40% of the programme may be delivered online to provide additional flexibility.The course will focus heavily on practical learning through role plays, simulations, case studies and group activities. The final semester will be entirely project-based, requiring students to work on real industry problems. Programme graduates will also become eligible for PhD admissions, teaching careers and higher leadership opportunities in both govt and private sectors.
