Over 52.6 lakh students and teachers took part on Monday in a mass rendition of a tribute song at 20,239 institutes in Konkan region to celebrate the 350th death anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, revered as Hind-di-Chadar (protector of India). Best of India Records, a Delhi-based records registry, certified the recital of the 4-minute, 45-second song as the world’s largest simultaneous playing of a tribute song. PM Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah are set to attend anniversary celebrations at Owe Ground in Kharghar (pictured) this weekend. —B B Nayak
