Buxar: Gujarat Police arrested three persons from Dumraon subdivision in connection with a nine-year-old cyber fraud case, following a technical investigation and a series of raids conducted with the help of local police on Tuesday.The accused were identified as Deepu Kumar, son of late Dwarika Pandey, of Rajdiha village under Dumraon police station area; Sami Ali, son of Gulbas, of Ataon village; and Dharmendra Kumar of Khadaesari village under Sikaroul police station limits.According to police, the three were allegedly involved in a major cyber fraud committed in Gujarat in 2017. Investigators traced a substantial portion of the fraudulently obtained money to bank accounts linked to the accused.Gujarat Police subsequently examined banking transactions and the digital trail associated with the case. Their investigation allegedly established links between the accused and the transactions, following which the team travelled to Dumraon and conducted raids at different locations with the assistance of local police.After completing necessary legal formalities, the police team left for Gujarat with the three accused for further investigation and questioning. Dumraon SHO Sanjay Kumar Sinha confirmed the arrests.The case dates back to 2017, but the arrests followed a long investigation into financial transactions and digital evidence. Police said further details of the alleged fraud and the role of the accused would emerge during the ongoing investigation.
