Gandhinagar: Chief minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday reviewed relief and rescue operations being carried out in parts of the state affected by heavy rain at the State Emergency Operations Centre.Relief commissioner Gaurang Makwana said two additional National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams allotted by the Centre have been deployed in Surat and Navsari districts. He added that 200 people were rescued in Valsad and 50 in Navsari, while around 22,000 people have been relocated from affected areas.State health minister Praful Pansheriya also held a meeting with health department officials from rain-hit districts and directed them to take preventive measures to avert outbreaks of diseases in the aftermath of heavy rainfall.
