A statement by the Gujarat Rural Workers Welfare Board said that according to state govt schemes, a sum of Rs 4 lakh is provided to the next of kin of those who die because of silicosis, while Rs 3 lakh is paid to silicosis patients. Silicosis patients are provided free treatment in govt hospitals, the statement added.
