Coimbatore: A 50-year-old guest worker from Bihar was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl with developmental disorders near Thudiyalur in the city on Wednesday.Police said the accused, is a relative of the survivor and resides near her house. The incident took place when the girl’s parents were not at home. The girl eventually informed her mother about her ordeal, following which a complaint was lodged at the All Women Police (Central) station.The accused was booked under Section 5(m) (penetrative sexual assault on child below 12 years) and 6 (punishment of aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Assault (Pocso) Act. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
