Noida: A man who gave police the slip was caught by the security guards of a society.Twenty-five-year-old Narendra Kumar was arrested after he ran into Purvanchal Royal City society in Greater Noida after seeing police. The accused, who worked as a delivery boy, possibly went there to deliver something, police said.After Aligarh police alerted the security guards of the society, more than five security guards surrounded Kumar and caught him. Guards handed him over to the police.Kumar, who had allegedly thrashed a shopkeeper and vandalised the victim’s shop over cigarettes in Gaunda area, was on the run.Ecotech-1 SHO Arvind Kumar told TOI that on Tuesday, some police officers from Aligarh came to the police station, saying Kumar, a resident of Aligarh, was absconding after beating up the shopkeeper. An FIR was registered against him in Gaunda police station in Aligarh under sections 324 (4) (mischief causing damage to the amount of Rs 20,000 but less than Rs 1 lakh), 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of BNS.“The officers also told us that Narendra is working as a delivery boy for an online platform and they traced him in Purvanchal Royal City where he had gone for delivery. I provided the force to them. Around 7.30pm, the police tried to stop him when he was entering the society, but he started running and went into the society. But cops alerted the security guards and they caught him,” the SHO added.
