Chennai: Chennai-based real estate developer GT Bharathi to develop a World Trade Center business in Chengalpattu, it announced on Tuesday that it has been granted a license by the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA).The company plans to develop WTC as the centrepiece of an integrated, IT-centric mixed-use township spread across approximately 150 acres, with a development value of about Rs 7,000 crore. The masterplan includes commercial and retail spaces, data centres, residential and luxury residential communities, educational institutions, and hospitality and is designed in phases over roughly a decade, said Arun Bharathi Arunachalam, managing director of GT Bharathi.“Our vision is a self-sustaining live-work-learn destination anchored by the WTC business park. A development of this scale is expected to create over 1,00,000 jobs, connecting local talent to global enterprise and turning Chengalpattu into a destination,” he added.World Trade Centers are premium office spaces and developers secure a license to use the branding licensing from WTCA. Chengalpattu sits at the heart of the state of Tamil Nadu’s fastest-expanding growth belt, with strong connectivity to the city’s IT corridor, industrial clusters, and upcoming infrastructure, GTB said in a release.
