GST officials in Gautam Budh Nagar convened GST SAMVAAD 2026 to reflect on the tax regime’s nine-year journey.

NOIDA: The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Gautam Budh Nagar Commissionerate on Monday organised GST SAMVAAD 2026 at its premises in Knowledge Park-III as part of GST Pakhwada 2026, bringing together tax officials, industry representatives, trade bodies and tax professionals to review the nine-year journey of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime and discuss the way forward.The programme was chaired by Dr. Yashovardhan Pathak, IRS, commissioner, CGST Gautam Buddh Nagar, who highlighted the evolution of the GST system since its implementation and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the tax administration and taxpayers.Discussions focused on the achievements of the GST framework over the past nine years, the challenges that remain, and measures required to make the tax regime more transparent, efficient and taxpayer-friendly.Officials said the interaction was aimed at encouraging dialogue with stakeholders and addressing issues faced by businesses while ensuring better compliance through awareness and cooperation.The event also reaffirmed the department’s commitment to creating a simplified tax ecosystem that supports economic growth while reducing compliance burdens.Representatives from industry and trade actively participated in the deliberations, sharing their experiences and suggestions on improving GST implementation. Among the prominent participants were Sanjeev Sharma, president, IEA, and Ravi Gupta, head, Indirect Tax, DS Group, along with members of various trade associations, tax consultants and business representatives.Senior departmental officers present at the programme included Arjun Lal Jat, additional commissioner, Darpan Amrawanshi, additional commissioner, superintendent Vishwendra Singh, inspector Sameer Singh Chauhan, and several other officers of the CGST Commissionerate.The interactive session concluded with an emphasis on continued engagement between the department and taxpayers to improve voluntary compliance, resolve concerns through dialogue, and support the government’s vision of a robust, transparent and business-friendly indirect tax system.
