Kanpur: The state govt has taken the first step towards renovating the world-famous Green Park cricket stadium by inviting tenders for the appointment of an architectural consultant. The selected consultant will prepare the stadium design and a detailed project report (DPR), drawings and tender documents for the proposed construction work. The renovation, estimated to cost around Rs 350 crore, is expected to begin in Jan or Feb 2027.The technical cell of the Uttar Pradesh Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Mission issued the Request for Proposal (RFP) on September 14, inviting applications from interested architectural consultants. Companies can submit their proposals between September 18 and October 8. The technical bids will be opened on October 8 in the evening.The selected companies will have to submit their original documents before the technical cell in Lucknow on October 9. The architectural consultant selected for the project will then be required to prepare the stadium design and DPR within 75 days.Based on the design and DPR, experts will finalise the technical and financial plan for the proposed renovation work. A tender will subsequently be floated to select the construction agency.Once this process is completed, a separate tender will be floated for the selection of the construction agency.The renovation work is expected to begin in Jan or Feb 2027. The total estimated cost of the Green Park renovation project is around Rs 350 crore.
