Berhampur: The higher education department on Wednesday issued an advertisement inviting applications for the post of vice-chancellor at Berhampur University (BU). The four-year tenure of the current VC, Geetanjali Dash, will end on May 6.As per the notification, applicants must be distinguished academicians with proven administrative experience and a well-rounded professional record. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience as a professor in a university system or 10 years in an equivalent position in a reputed academic or research institution.The upper age limit for applicants is 66 as on August 7, 2026. The VC’s tenure will be for four years.Applications must be submitted through email by May 24, while hard copies should reach the authorities by speed post on or before May 29.Shortlisted candidates will appear before a three-member selection committee. The final appointment will be made by the governor, who is also the chancellor of state universities.
