Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V D Satheesan sent a letter to chief electoral officer pointing out a violation of model code of conduct. The letter mentions about display of advertisements showcasing govt’s achievement even after election notification was issued. The opposition leader demanded immediate removal of advertisements and action against those responsible for the violation.“Govt hoardings and advertisements highlighting achievements and schemes of state govt continue to be displayed prominently across different parts of the state. It is particularly alarming that such promotional materials remain visible on KSRTC buses as well as in various public places,” Satheesan said.Continued presence of these advertisements creates an uneven playing field and has the potential to influence voters, thereby compromising fairness of electoral process. He also demanded strict monitoring mechanisms to prevent any further breaches.
