Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Rajendra Arlekar stopped his vehicle and personally attended to a man who collapsed on the road near Lok Bhavan gate in the state capital on Wednesday.The incident occurred when the governor was leaving Lok Bhavan to attend an Onam programme. A passer-by, identified as Girish, suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed on the road.Arlekar immediately stepped out of his vehicle and rushed to Girish. The governor remained at the spot for around 15 minutes, monitoring his condition and instructing his staff to provide the necessary assistance.The staff brought water for Girish and helped him wash his face. They also used his phone to contact his family and inform them about the incident.Girish’s house is near Aalthara Devi Temple at Vellayambalam. However, his family could not reach the spot immediately as they were not at home. Concerned about his condition, the governor directed his staff to ensure that Girish was taken to hospital for a medical examination.Arrangements were subsequently made to transport him to the hospital. He reportedly suffered the health issue after his blood sugar levels varied.
