Gorakhpur: Yashita Rai, a student of The Pillars Public School, has secured a place among the top 35 students selected nationwide for the Orientation-cum-Selection Camp (OCSC) under the Indian National Biology Olympiad (INBO), bringing laurels to the city.The selection process is conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, one of India’s premier scientific institutions. Yashita, a student of the 2024-25 academic session, earned the distinction after competing with some of the brightest students from across the country.School authorities described the achievement as a proud moment for both the institution and Gorakhpur. Managing director R P Shahi, mentor Kirti Shahi, assistant director Ishan Rana and Mahima Karol Rana congratulated Yashita and wished her success in future endeavours.They said her accomplishment would motivate students to pursue excellence in science with dedication and perseverance.Officiating principal Usha Bartariya also praised Yashita’s hard work, discipline and academic commitment. Teachers at the school highlighted her inquisitive nature and scientific temperament, saying her success reflects consistent effort and determination.
