Surat: A godown manager working for a Honda two-wheeler dealer allegedly siphoned off 10 vehicles worth Rs 7.23 lakh and fled after being fired for misbehaving with colleagues. The fraud came to light when the company conducted a stock verification following his termination.According to police, accused Dipul Maniya was employed as godown manager at Amideep Auto, a Honda two-wheeler dealership, on Dec 1 last year. He was responsible for handing over vehicles after fitting accessories and receiving new vehicles supplied by Honda to the showroom.Maniya was fired on June 13 this year, following complaints about his alleged misbehaviour with colleagues. The next day, when the company checked its vehicle stock, it found 10 two-wheelers missing—nine Activas and one Shine.When contacted by the company, Maniya assured them that he would return the vehicles within three days. However, after three days, he switched off his phone and went missing.The dealership approached the Sarthana police, who have registered an FIR in the case.
