Veteran actor Anupam Kher turned emotional as he marked 42 years in Indian cinema on May 25. The actor celebrated the special occasion by sharing a heartfelt video on social media, remembering the release of his debut film ‘Saaransh’, which hit theatres on May 25, 1984. Known for memorable performances in films like ‘Daddy’, ‘A Wednesday!’ and ‘The Kashmir Files’, Anupam reflected on his decades-long journey in the entertainment industry and expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him over the years.Sharing the emotional post, the actor looked back at the highs and lows of his career and called ‘Saaransh’ the most important turning point of his life“42 YEARS OF SAARANSHA! Today, I complete 42 years in the world of cinema and entertainment. Exactly 42 years ago, on 25th May 1984, my first film ‘Saaransh’ was released,” Anupam wrote. He further added, “What a journey it has been. Full of struggles, victories, failures, learning, laughter, tears, friendships, and unforgettable memories. But through all the ups and downs, ‘Saaransh’ remains the most defining and iconic chapter of my life.”

Anupam also used the opportunity to thank the people who believed in him when he was a newcomer in the industry. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, ‘Saaransh’ is considered one of the most critically acclaimed films in Hindi cinema. Despite being relatively new to the industry at the time, Anupam earned immense praise for portraying an elderly father dealing with grief and loneliness.The actor admitted that the film completely transformed his life and career. “Whatever I am today is because of ‘Saaransh’. From a small-town boy from Shimla to a man who got to live his dream for 42 years… I can only say GOD IS KIND!
