Panaji: Goa recorded a 99% pass percentage in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X results declared on Wednesday. Of the 1,199 students who appeared, 1,188 passed out of which 575 were girls and 613 boys — cleared the exam.Students from 16 schools wrote the exam across nine centres in the state.Goa was among a select group of states with a pass percentage of 99% and above, alongside Punjab, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.Independent CBSE schools saw the highest participation, with 583 students appearing and 576 passing (98.8%). Kendriya Vidyalayas followed, with 371 students appearing and 370 clearing the exam (99.7%).At the two Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, 137 students appeared and 135 passed (98.5%). Government CBSE schools recorded 107 students appearing and 106 passing (99%).Girls recorded a 100% pass rate in independent schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.Category-wise, 930 students appeared under the general category, 153 OBC, 69 SC and 47 ST.
