Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant, who also holds the finance portfolio, promised to deliver an inclusive and growth-oriented budget for the coming fiscal.Sawant held pre-budget consultation meetings ahead of the budget 2026-27 with a wide cross-section of stakeholders and industry bodies to try and gather inputs for the budgetary allocations.“Our govt remains committed to a participative, growth-oriented and people-centric budget that accelerates Goa’s economic development while ensuring inclusive progress,” said the chief minister.With the budget session set to commence in a week, Sawant said that he will not be available for public meetings from Sunday onwards as he needs time to prepare for the forthcoming Assembly budget session.Sawant met with representatives of the solar energy industry, barge owners, chartered accountants, Goa Union of Journalists, industry bodies, the pharmaceutical sector, IT industries, and the real estate sector. He also took inputs from the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa, liquor traders, the food and beverage industry, and mining companies.Sawant said that he received “valuable suggestions and sector-specific inputs” which could help strengthen ease of doing business, boost tourism, support industrial units and manufacturing, promote green energy, and generate employment opportunities for Goans.
