11 years after the original series’ finale rolled along, it has officially been confirmed that the musical show ‘Glee’ is making a comeback! Deadline reported that the leading production company confirmed the news that the show has officially been picked up for a complete revival.
Ryan Murphy talking about writing a script for ‘Glee’ reboot
The news comes a month after co-creator Ryan Murphy had started rumors and speculations about the show’s return. While talking to PEOPLE about his latest show, ‘The Shards,’ the writer, director, and producer shared that he has worked on a brand-new script for a possible ‘Glee’ reboot.He shared, “That show is interesting because it’s come back around. So many young people now watch it. And I’m like, ‘Maybe we should revisit that show.’ My nostalgia and love for that show is enough that I’m like, ‘Well, maybe people would like to see a new incarnation of that in some capacity.’ So yeah, I love that show, and I loved what it became and what it meant to so many people.”
All the ‘Glee’ original cast members so far that are set to return
As of right now, two ‘Glee’ members have shared social media posts about the reboot and seemingly confirmed that they will be returning for the show. This includes Heather Morris, who played the role of Brittany Pierce, and Chord Overstreet, who played Sam Evans.Morris posted about the reboot on Instagram, sharing a snap of herself from the show 11 years ago, and wrote, “Yes, ladies and gentlemen of women, rumors are true. Brittany S. Pierce was in fact lost in the sewers for all these years. But I’m here to inform you that she is alive and well …and back for more #Glee.” Overstreet also took to X to share his excitement over the reboot, saying, “Reunited, and it feels so good!”Lastly, Lea Michele, who played one of the most popular characters on the show, Rachel Berry, is also set to reprise her role in the upcoming reboot. However, unlike the other two stars, the actress herself has not posted or issued any confirmation about the news. “She’s in,” Variety reported in a statement, while another added, “It’s still early-ish days, but it feels good, and we’re happy to get the band back together.”

The premise of the show Glee follows Spanish teacher Will Schuester as he takes over the failing New Directions show choir at William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. He tries to restore the club to glory; students find their voices, face high school life, and deal with a hard-headed cheerleading coach.
