Ludhiana: Enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy against unplanned development, Glada has issued notices to owners of unauthorized constructions. The move is part of an ongoing crackdown on structures that deviate from legally approved building specifications. In one recent instance, a notice was served to a property owner for conducting commercial activity and extending construction beyond the limits of a building plan sanctioned on April 19, 2024. A second notice was issued for a significant structural violation where the owner constructed a basement plus four levels instead of adhering to the structure originally approved by the authority.
Chief administrator Sandeep Kumar urged residents to ensure all construction is performed strictly in accordance with plans approved by the competent authority. He warned that any deviation will result in the immediate cancellation of the approved plan and further enforcement actions, including the sealing or demolition of the property. The authority emphasized that the full responsibility for such violations and the subsequent legal consequences rests entirely with the builder or owner.Reiterating this stance, GLADA additional chief administrator Vikas Hira stated that in addition to active demolition campaigns, the authority will initiate strict legal proceedings against any individuals or entities found involved in unauthorized development across the district.
