The victim was rescued from the accused’s residence and brought back safely to Kaimur district.The arrested accused has been identified as Subhash Bhamu, a resident of Khariyabad village under Shalasaar police station in Churu district, Rajasthan. According to police sources, the minor was lured away on the promise of employment by Mahesh Kumar, a resident of Sikar district in Rajasthan. Investigations revealed that Mahesh Kumar allegedly sold the girl to Subhash Bhamu for ₹2 lakh.Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Manoranjan Bharti disclosed the details of the case during a press conference on Tuesday. He stated that last week, family members of the victim from a village under Chainpur police station approached Superintendent of Police Harimohan Shukla with a complaint. They alleged that Mahesh Kumar had taken the minor to Rajasthan on December 27, 2025, on the pretext of providing her with a job and later forcibly arranged her marriage to another man.Taking swift cognisance of the matter, the SP directed immediate action for the girl’s recovery and the arrest of those involved. A special team comprising Chainpur SHO Vijay Prasad, Sub-Inspector Chandan Kumar, and women police personnel was constituted and dispatched to Rajasthan.The team successfully traced and rescued the minor from Khariyabad locality in Churu district and arrested Subhash Bhamu, son of Ramlal, in connection with the case.Police said further investigation is underway to apprehend other accused involved in the trafficking and forced marriage of the minor.
