Lucknow: A 15-year-old girl died in Lucknow’s Malihabad area on Friday morning after she allegedly consumed rat poison mistaking it for a painkiller.Family said that the girl’s condition deteriorated, and she was admitted to a nearby private hospital.Doctors treating her asked the family about the medicine she had consumed. The family then checked the medicine container and realised that she had accidentally taken rat poison instead of pain killer. The information was shared with the doctors.Given her critical condition, she was referred to the community health centre in Malihabad where doctors pronounced her dead.The girl was a student of Class 7 and her father is a farmer.Police sent the body for postmortem and further investigation is underway.
