Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Friday said the Bihar govt would make every possible effort to acquaint people, particularly Gen Z, with the life and ideas of Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, founder and first Sarsanghchalak of the RSS.Choudhary was speaking after inaugurating the mega-play “Sangh Srijan Ka Avishkar: Yugpravartak Dr Hedgewar” at Bapu Sabhagar in the Samrat Ashok Convention Kendra complex. The production, staged by Nagpur-based Nadbrahm Sanstha, was organised on the occasion of the RSS centenary year. Choudhary lit the ceremonial lamp, offered a floral tribute to Hedgewar’s portrait and watched the performance.Addressing the gathering, Choudhary described the play as an important medium to understand Hedgewar’s life, struggles, ideas and resolve. Bihar has more than two crore youth, he said, stressing the need to acquaint the new generation, particularly Gen Z, with Hedgewar’s dedication to the nation and his thoughts.Calling the occasion historic, he said the play highlighted values such as patriotism, sacrifice, discipline and social service. Choudhary described Hedgewar as a freedom fighter, thinker and skilled organiser who made an important contribution to nation-building. By founding the RSS, Hedgewar developed a tradition of organisation and national service that later expanded across the country, he said.The CM said people associated with the RSS had continuously worked through its branches for national service, social harmony and promotion of cultural traditions. He announced that the play would be staged in other districts so more youths could draw inspiration from it.Producer Padmakar Dhanorkar welcomed Choudhary with a bouquet and memento. Art and Culture minister Pramod Kumar and RSS Bihar-Jharkhand Kshetriya Karyavah Mohan Singh also addressed the programme. Schoolchildren presented the national song and national anthem.A CM’s office communique said the art and culture department organised the theatrical presentation to portray Hedgewar’s life, struggle, sacrifice, dedication, contribution to nation-building and ideas.
