The Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) of Government Degree College Kulgam (GDCK), in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), organised a one-day workshop on the Startup Idea Challenge Bootcamp at the college.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Principal, Government Degree College Kulgam, Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Abass Shah, who elaborated on the growing importance of startups and entrepreneurship and encouraged students to explore innovative ideas and entrepreneurial opportunities. The District Nodal Officer, JKEDI, Kulgam, Mr. Arshid Ahmad Malik, outlined the structure and objectives of the workshop and apprised the participants of various schemes, benefits and support initiatives being offered by JKEDI to aspiring entrepreneurs. Success stories from the previous year were also shared and discussed with the participants and stakeholders.
As part of the bootcamp, a total of 13 innovative ideas were presented by students, which were evaluated by a jury constituted for the purpose. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with more than 200 students and participants attending the programme. Coordinator, IIC, GDC Kulgam, Dr. Gowhar Hamid Dar, conducted the proceedings of the workshop. He also highlighted the initiatives and achievements of the Institutions Innovation Council over the past few years and underlined its role in promoting innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship among students.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sana Bala, Head, Department of Business Administration, Government Degree College Kulgam, who expressed gratitude to the guests, organisers, jury members, faculty members and students for their valuable participation and contribution to the successful conduct of the event.
