What a Global Capability Centre (GCC) should mean to India, how data should be handled and the possibilities and challenges that artificial intelligence (AI) could bring formed the three key pillars of discussion at the JSA Boardroom Connect 5th Edition, Prasanth V.G., Partner, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, said on the sidelines of the JSA Boardroom Connect’s Benglauru Edition.
Reflecting on the session, Prasanth said he was fascinated by the way the discussion was structured, beginning with the question of what a GCC should mean to India.
“Does it simply mean that there are people who are available at a cheap cost and therefore a GCC? Or should it really mean that there is actual capability and therefore a GCC?” he said.
The discussion then moved to how the administration should respond to GCCs in terms of ease of doing business.
It subsequently turned to data issues related to running a GCC and the data protection aspects that a GCC should be concerned about, followed by discussions on AI and the challenges and possibilities associated with it.
“So I think these three pillars formed the basis of the discussion, that is, what is a GCC? What should we do with the data? And then what are the various possibilities and challenges that AI would throw up in the recent times?” Prasanth said.
He said the discussion was comprehensive, with participants offering views that were pertinent to the issues being discussed.
“More than saying informative, I think it was very perceptional. And that I think was the greatest achievement of this evening. I’m very happy that I participated,” he said.
