Ahmedabad: A cashier working with a gas agency was assaulted at his residence in the Sardarnagar area of the city, allegedly for terminating a tempo contract with the agency, police said.The incident occurred on Thursday night when the cashier returned home after depositing money at a bank in the Hansol area. At that time, three men, including two helpers employed with the agency, came to his room on the first floor. One of the accused confronted him, questioning why his tempo contract was terminated at the gas agency and why the owner was informed about the Rs 10,000 cash advance he had taken. The cashier stated that two of the men were carrying sticks and began assaulting him. He sustained injuries, and the attack continued until neighbours and nearby residents rushed to the spot after hearing his cries and intervened. Before leaving, the accused allegedly threatened him with death and warned him not to come to the office the next day, police said. A complaint in this regard was lodged with Airport police by the cashier on Friday.
