Garhwa: Nineteen people from two separate communities were arrested after two groups clashed over installation of a religious flag in Ramkanda police station limits of the district on Thursday night. Four police personnel were injured in the stone pelting which followed the face-off.Garhwa SP Aman Kumar on Saturday replaced Surendra Singh Kuntia, the officer-in-charge of Ramkanda police station, with Ravi Patel.The incident occurred on Thursday evening when members of the two communities came face-to-face over installation of a religious flag at the Kawwakhoh chabutra in Ramkanda. The dispute quickly escalated when stones were pelted on a procession. Several people, including four cops, were hurt.SP reached the spot with a police team, which resorted to lathi charge and fired tear gas shells to control the crowd. Eighteen motorcycles were seized 18 from the spot. “The situation is under control,” SP said on Friday.
