Garhwa: To curb noise pollution, the Garhwa district administration has issued an order banning the use of loudspeakers, sound systems and DJs between 10 pm and 6 am.Under the directive, areas within a 100-metre radius of all hospitals, nursing homes and educational institutions have been declared silent zones. Any violation of the order will lead to the seizure of sound systems and related equipment, and legal action will be initiated against those responsible.Deputy commissioner (DC) Dinesh Kumar Yadav issued the district-level order on Friday in compliance with a high court directive. He authorised district, sub-divisional and block-level officials to take action upon receiving complaints from the public.At the district level, additional collector Raj Maheshwaram has been designated as the nodal officer and can be contacted at 9470580770. At the sub-divisional level, Garhwa SDM Sanjay Kumar (7903796154), Ranka SDM (9534102095) and Banshidhar Nagar SDM (7763988693) have been authorised to act on complaints. Similarly, Circle Officer (CO) of Garhwa and Danda, Shafi Alam (9560163463), and Meral CO Yashwant Nayak (9931345485) have been authorised to ensure compliance with the noise pollution norms.
