Prayagraj: Even though the water level of both Ganga and Yamuna rivers continued to recede at Phaphamau, Chhatnag and Naini for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, residents living in low lying areas of the city prefer to opt `wait and watch’ policy.Meanwhile, officials of the flood control department on Tuesday maintained that that water level of both Ganga and Yamuna could increased only when additional flood water is released from dams concerned. Officials added that the water level of both Ganga and Yamuna has receded 42 cm in past 24 hours.Water level of Ganga (at 8 am ) at Phaphamau was recorded as 80.69 m, at Chhatnag it was 79.28 m. Yamuna was flowing at 79.74 m at Naini, more than five meters below the danger mark of 84.73 m.
